Hello guys.. how are you all doing??
The weather is finally getting warmer in Vermont & I couldn’t be happier. The sun was out last Saturday.. but as I am writing this post.. it’s hidden behind some dark clouds 😦
Yup, when it’s not snowing.. it is Raining! But I love the rains.. it takes me back to Mumbai during monsoon! #Nostalgia
So, on Saturday when the sun was out..we decided to go for a small hike to a nearby mountain in the Mt. Philo State Park. The park is about a 40 minute drive from where I live. Since it was cheat day and I was really craving some sugar.. I decided to stop by Starbucks for a nice frappuccino.. so that I can burn all the calories while I hike.. smart eh? 😉 I had the new Crystal Ball Frappucino. I really liked it. It wasn’t overly sweet and actually has some peach flavour added to it. So that makes it really fresh and yummy.
We got to the park around 11:50 am and there was ample parking available. You can also directly drive to the top, but I guess the road is closed during winters and you have to hike. I have a tiny backpack for hikes..I filled it with a couple of water bottles (a must for hikes) and bananas and a figbar, incase I was hungry when we got to the top.

Since the weather was nice and warm.. I was expecting all the snow to have melted.. haha… how stupid! We started the hike at the dot 12 pm and as we got about 0.4 miles into the hike.. we started seeing some snow! And I did not have my snow shoes on..I had a pair of sport shoes on…genius! So, in my head I was thinking.. “oh..oh..should we turn back? should we keep going?” But it wasn’t too bad.
We took baby steps over the part of the hike where you really have to sort of climb..that was a little challenging.. but halfway through the hike..you reach the road which you can drive on to reach the top. At this point, you can either continue the hike on the sloppy and rugged mountain or walk on the road and reach the summit.
So, we decided to take the road, which was completely covered with snow. But the sun was out and the snow was soft… so although the walk was challenging, it wasn’t as bad as climbing the side of the mountain. So we took the longer trail which is about 2.6 miles. It was a beautiful day for a hike and we reached the top in about 1 hour.
Once we got to the top.. the scene was really beautiful. The air was crisp and fresh, I just wanted to camp out there. We just spent some time on some of the benches at the summit, had some water and enjoyed the amazing view. You can see the snow-capped mountains of the Adirondacks and a mesmerizing view of Lake Champlain. It a real serene and calm view.
After spending some time at the summit, we took the road again to head down to the parking lot. This time, we decided to take a separate path down, which was also a road for vehicles, but like I said you couldn’t drive up due to snow. The road was steep but obviously, the descent was much easier than the climb. We took about 30 mins to get to the bottom and were starving at this point.
After the hike, we went to my favorite place around Burlington, Folino’s Pizza…if you’re around Burlington, you have to visit this place. We had some delicious Shrimp & Buffalo Chicken Pizza, perfect end to the awesome hike. After that, we ran some errands and I dozed off within minutes of getting home! 😀

How was your weekend?
Until next time,
Stay Gorgeous & Keep Inspiring!
Daily Dose of Happiness…
- After monday’s WillPower & Grace, I did a Pilates class on Tuesday. And my instructor amp’ed up the intensity because it was a rather smallerclass.. haha. So I am really feeling it today in my glutes and quads, so decided to take a break today from workouts.
- I have all my evening free today, so I am hoping to get some editing done and post my video for this week 🤞
Wow I’m really impressed that you kept going despite the snow! The photos look beautiful!

The weather has been a little more sunny here in England too! And I am so happy about it! Your amazing for doing all that walking in the snow I can barely walk across the road to the shops when it snows!
